1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how First Link, Inc., doing business as First Link Safety and First Link Services ("First Link Safety," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website at firstlinksafetyservices.com (the "Site") or contact us through it.
First Link, Inc. owns and operates the Site. From time to time, we may share information with our affiliate, First Link Safety Outfitters, LLC, in connection with services offered through or referenced on the Site. See Section 5 for details on how we share information with affiliates.
We are a safety consulting and training company based in Idaho. This Site is intended for businesses and professionals in the United States. We do not direct our services to users outside the United States, and we do not knowingly market to residents of the European Union, United Kingdom, or other regions outside the U.S.
This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Use and Cookie Policy. By using the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy and those documents. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you submit our contact form or otherwise communicate with us, you may provide:
- Name
- Email address
- Company or organization name
- Phone number (if provided)
- The content of your message or inquiry
- Any other information you choose to include
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Device and browser information — browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution
- Usage information — pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, referring website, date and time of visit
- Location information — approximate geographic location derived from IP address (city or region level; we do not collect precise GPS location)
- IP address — your device's internet address, which may be truncated or anonymized by our analytics provider
- Cookie and similar technology identifiers — see Section 6 below
2.3 Information from Analytics Services
We use third-party analytics services that collect information about your interaction with the Site. This includes:
- Google Analytics — collects pseudonymous usage data to help us understand Site traffic and improve content
See Section 5 for a full list of service providers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and provide the information or services you request
- Communicate with you about our safety training, consulting, and related services
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
- Understand how visitors use the Site (analytics)
- Protect the security and integrity of the Site and our business
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your information because:
- You have provided it to us voluntarily (e.g., through the contact form)
- It is necessary to respond to your request or provide requested services
- We have a legitimate business interest in operating, securing, and improving the Site
- We are legally required to retain or disclose it
7. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) only to understand how visitors use the Site — for example, which pages are viewed and how long visits last. GA4 uses cookies and processes IP addresses (which are anonymized before being stored). We do not use GA4 for advertising, remarketing, or audience building. In our GA4 property settings, Google Signals data collection and advertising-related data sharing are turned off.
We do not provide a separate Google Analytics opt-out link on this Site. You can limit analytics cookies through your browser settings, as described in Section 6 and our Cookie Policy.
For general information about how Google processes data, see Google's Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
8. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
We do not sell your personal information and we do not run advertising on the Site. We do not use your information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising, including through our Google Analytics configuration (see Sections 5 and 7). State-law opt-outs related to sale or targeted advertising therefore do not apply to our current practices. You can still manage analytics cookies through your browser, as described in Sections 6 and 7.
8.1 Choices Available to Everyone
Regardless of where you live, you can:
- Stop using the Site at any time
- Decline to submit the contact form
- Manage cookies through your browser settings (see Section 6 and our Cookie Policy)
- Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you have provided. See Section 13.
8.2 State-Specific Privacy Rights (U.S.)
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights under state privacy laws, including:
- Right to know / access what personal information we have collected about you
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to delete personal information we have collected about you
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights
- Right to appeal a denial of a rights request (in some states)
States that currently provide some version of these rights include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others. We honor verified requests from residents of any state with an applicable privacy law.
Some state laws also provide a right to opt out of the "sale" of personal information or "targeted advertising." We do not sell personal information, we do not run Site advertising, and we do not use Google Analytics for targeted advertising, so that opt-out right does not apply to our current practices.
To exercise the rights listed above, contact us using the information in Section 13. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically 45 days).
8.3 California Residents
If you are a California resident, you have the rights described in Section 8.2 under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not run interest-based advertising on the Site, so no "Do Not Sell or Share" opt-out mechanism is required for our current practices.
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a right-to-limit disclosure.
8.4 Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to make a privacy request on your behalf. We will require written authorization and verification of your identity.
9. Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law.
- Contact form inquiries — retained for up to three (3) years for business records and follow-up purposes, after which they are deleted or anonymized. This applies to email copies stored in Zoho Mail.
- Google Analytics data — retained for 14 months (the GA4 default), after which user-level data is automatically deleted by Google
- Server logs and hosting logs — retained for a short period (typically 30–90 days) by Vercel for security and troubleshooting purposes
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately using the information in Section 13.
11. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
12. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
